MORTON GROVE, ILLINOIS (JULY 29, 2025): New Trier Township Republican Committeeman Julie Cho of the New Trier Republican Organization and Mark Albers, President of the Niles Township GOP, hosted David Smith, Executive Director of the Illinois Family Institute at a social event in Morton Grove on July 28. Members of both political organizations heard David Smith discuss the Pro-Life movement, the impact of sex education in public schools, and the influence of modern American culture on young people. The Illinois Family Institute is an independent 501c (3) non-profit ministry dedicated to upholding and re-affirming marriage, family, life and liberty in Illinois.
This was the first event co-hosted by Committeeman Cho and President Albers. Both have determined that working together will help rebuild their respective Township's Republican base and benefit the Republican candidates, as all the legislative districts run through multiple townships. President Albers noted the rapid growth of his organization since it became independent less than one year ago. “We are drawing in new members who have grown tired of politics as usual in Illinois. Ever-increasing property taxes, high rates of crime, and the overall high cost of living have negatively impacted nearly all Cook County residents. Voters are looking for change in 2026.” Albers noted that his organization welcomes members from inside and outside the Niles Township boundaries.
Committeeman Cho believes that residents in her Township (Wilmette, Winnetka, Kenilworth, and Glencoe) will be paying close attention to the 2026 elections. “We are very excited to have a state representative candidate in each of the four state representative districts that run through New Trier. The New Trier Republicans will actively support candidates who represent our values. Our candidates are running to help make our residents’ everyday lives less expensive and much safer. Combining our efforts with Niles Township will help us achieve these goals,” she said.
