COOK COUNTY REPUBLICANS ELECT NEW LEADERSHIP ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15

Excerpted from a report offered by Committeeman T.J. Brown of Northfield Township

As all 102 counties in Illinois held Republican conventions simultaneously, Cook County Republicans gathered at Moretti's in Edison Park (in Chicago) to elect a new county chairman and new State Central Committeemen. These were important votes for the future of our party, as we all know Illinois Republicans must improve our performance if we are going to help save our state.

LYONS TOWNSHIP COMMITTEEMAN TERRY CARR ELECTED AS COOK COUNTY REPUBLICAN CHAIRMAN

Carr also serves as Mayor of McCook and Highway Commissioner in Lyons Township. Politics runs in the Carr family, as both Terry Carr Sr. and Allan Carr held office in west suburban Cook County. Terry is committed to improving turnout, filling ballot vacancies, and recruiting election judges as we get behind our nominees at the top of the ticket: Don Tracy for United States Senate and Darren Bailey and Aaron Del Mar for Governor and Lieutenant Governor.

STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE ELECTION IN 9TH & 5TH CD's

THE STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE ILLINOIS REPUBLICAN PARTY

The 17 men and women elected from the state's congressional districts make up the Illinois GOP's steering committee. Each selects a deputy of the opposite sex from his or her district. Together, they elect the state party chairman, help shape party policy, appoint members to convention committees, and guide the direction of the Illinois Republican Party between conventions. Many also remain active in helping their local county and township organizations.
